KCB merchants are now connected to seamless rewarding payments as they accept payments from Verve cardholders at their merchant locations via KCB POS terminals.
Merchants on the KCB network have now been empowered to accept Verve cards at their merchant locations via their POS terminals. This development is in furtherance of Interswitch’s commitment to inspiring Africa to greatness via seamless digital payments. Verve and KCB Bank Uganda recently progressed their partnership with the onboarding of KCB merchants on the Verve network, as KCB Bank became one of the first commercial banks to accept Verve cards at Point of Sale (POS) terminals in Uganda.
Damalie Sajjabi, the Head of Products and Operations at Interswitch East Africa Uganda Limited, expressed her delight at the new development, she said: “The Verve Payment Scheme entered the Ugandan market to provide flexible, customized and cost-effective tokens to financial institutions. Verve Card’s acceptance at KCB POS locations is the next phase in our journey to providing easily accessible payment services for all Verve Card holders and the other financial institutions who join the Verve family.”
Also speaking at the launch of the partnership, Mr. Michael Ssekyondwa, KCB Bank Uganda’s Head of Retail Banking, noted that the partnership is mutually beneficial as it aligns with KCB’s agenda to drive digitally-led products and services to ease the lives of customers. Already, the Verve payment scheme enjoys wide acceptance across Uganda, with multiple banks, Saccos, MDIs and exhibits. This development further demonstrates a strong potential for expansion.
